There’s No “One Size Fits All” Solution for Health Coverage.
When it comes to finding coverage, the details of your life matter. Things like household size, income, age, health status, and life changes like losing a job or getting married can all impact the health coverage or programs you are eligible for and when you can enroll. Some common health insurance options include:
- MaineCare - Maine's Medicaid program for qualifying individuals and families.
- Maine's Health Insurance Marketplace - also known as CoverME, or ACA coverage, is where individuals and families who do not qualify for MaineCare and do not have affordable coverage through an employer can shop for plans and get help paying their premiums.
- Medicare - the federal health insurance program available to many U.S. citizens who are 65 and older or disabled.
- Hospital Free Care and Sliding Scale Programs - designed for patients with medical bills who meet certain income guidelines.
Different Types of Coverage Under One Roof
Members of the same household often qualify for different types of coverage. We can screen you and your family members for eligibility, see if an employer plan is considered affordable, help you transition from one type of coverage to another, and connect you with programs that might help you pay for care if your coverage doesn’t pay enough.
