In Maine, those certified to assist with Marketplace applications for private health insurance through CoverMe.gov are called Maine Enrollment Assisters or MEA's. Certified insurance brokers are also able to help consumers complete their applications at CoverME.gov.
The organizations the MEA's are certified under are called Maine Enrollment Assister Organizations or MEAO's. All MEAO's must register with the state of Maine regardless of whether they are employed or volunteers. For help registering your organization as an MEAO, please email SBMAssisters.DHHS@Maine.gov.
ALL Maine Enrollment Assisters must maintain that certification annually. CoverME.gov offers an annual online training through their Learning Management System.
