MARTINS & STEIN JOIN CONSUMER HEALTH
ORGANIZATION'S BOARD
|
(Augusta) Consumers for Affordable Health Care
(CAHC) is thrilled to have Becky Martins and Mitchell Stein join us as our newest
Foundation board members. They bring tremendous skills
to our organization.
Becky lives in Warren
with her husband, Alex. She has been a volunteer
advocate in health care quality and patient safety for
the last decade. She has presented to the Agency
for Healthcare Research and Quality and the Texas
Institute for Medical Technology. She works closely with
Consumers Advancing Patient Safety (CAPS). Becky has
served on numerous health care-related councils,
committees and boards and has been recognized with
numerous awards for her work. "I'm delighted to join
CAHC and will work diligently to advance its mission of
advocating for access to affordable, quality
healthcare," says Becky
Martins.
Mitchell lives in
Cumberland Foreside with his wife, Martha. Most
recently, he has worked in New York for Mercer Human
Resource Consulting, Inc. as their Global
Intranet Director, as the Marketing Manager for US
Health Care Practice and here in Maine as the
Director of Program Coordination for Health Dialog.
Mitchell says, "I'm very excited to be affiliated with
CAHC. After spending 20 years working
in health care for the private sector, I'm thrilled to
be able to give back by helping with
CAHC's important non-profit work." He is a
Health Care Industry professional who focuses on
strategy, marketing and product development. He has
extensive background working with various aspects of the
heath care environment including insurance benefits
designs. Mitchell holds an MBA from the University of
Chicago. "We are so
pleased that such accomplished individuals in the health
care and health coverage industries are coming on board
with us. As national health care reform takes
center stage we need to be mindful that any improvements
to our health care system will likely take years to
implement and perfect on a national scale. So, we
still need to work hard here at the state level to make
sure Maine people have quality care that is available to
them when they need it at an affordable price. We
are certain Becky Martins and Mitchell Stein will be
able to help us do that," says CAHC Executive Director
Joe Ditré. Pictures of both Becky and
Mitchell are attached for media use. Becky's photo
is provided with permission from University of
Maine at Augusta program, Women, Work &
Community. |
Consumers for Affordable Health Care is a
