More Parents Can Get
MaineCare Coverage

As of May 1, 2005 - If you have minor child(ren) eligible for Low-Cost MaineCare (formerly “CubCare”), now you may be able to get MaineCare Coverage as well!

Governor Baldacci announced yesterday, that as part of the Dirigo Health Reform package, MaineCare income eligibility for parents with minor children at home rose from 150% to 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines ($25,660 for a household of 2; $32,180 for a household of 3; $38,700 for a household of 4; there are some income disregards, so if you are close, you should apply). This means that many parents could now be eligible – as long as they also meet the asset guidelines.

Remember – Assets are not considered for your minor child’s eligibility. And, many assets are NOT counted against you, including a family's home, up to two vehicles, up to $12,000 in savings, as well as other less common assets. For more information call us at 1-800-965-7476.

To apply - Call the Department of Health and Human Services office nearest you, and ask to apply for MaineCare parent coverage. If you do not know who to call, call us at 1-800-965-7476 for assistance.
